About Hermes 3000/Media 3 Typewriter Knobs
Hermes 3000 and Hermes Media 3 platen knobs were originally made from plastic composite which is hard but becomes very brittle with aging. This is a normal process for this type of hard plastic used in the 1960s. This is why it is so common to see typewriters with broken, glued or missing platen knobs. If you need a new knob for your typewriter, which will outperform your old knob and also guarantee a good color match, read on.
